Wrigleyville
Sunday afternoon, and this beer bottle is still so nicely balanced on the fire hydrant on Clark Street just a block south of Wrigley Field. I can only wonder if the person who put it there--presumably late on Saturday night or early Sunday morning--was as equally well-balanced.
You wouldn't know it from the photograph, but the green wall outlines a two-block long construction site where new restaurants, bars, and retail are being added to the Wrigley neighborhood. The entire area is a massive construction site, with a hotel rising from the ground just west of Wrigley field where the McDonald's used to be located. A block further north is the Cubs' new office building. Many of the bars on Clark are now empty. I suspect more buildings will be torn down, as this neighborhood is transformed into a year-round entertainment mecca.
