Piet

Not much to say about this photograph.  We were in the 16th Arrondissement (also known as the Arrondissement de Passy), visiting Musée Marmottan Monet, which holds the largest collection of Monet paintings in the world, thanks in large part to Monet's last surviving son, who donated the paintings to the museum.  Included in the collection is Impression, Sunrise, which Monet never sold and which gave rise to the term Impressionism.

We decided to walk back to central Paris, taking a path to the Seine.  I came to a corner, looked up a gently rising residential street, and saw what looked to me like Piet Mondrian painting--the rooftops of Paris.  We have been living with grey skies and very little light.  Not the case when I looked up the street.

Paris holds endless surprises for the photographer.
